Summer Internship Programme
The Centre for Conflict Resolution & Human Security (CCRHS) is a research-based and policy-oriented non-government institution. With its focus on human security, the Centre is committed to advancing peace and democracy in India and the South Asian region. It is currently working on issues including Conflict & Politics, Conflict Resolution & Peacebuilding, Human Security and Internal Security (Caste & Ethnic Violence, Left Extremism and Religious Sectarian Violence).
The Centre announces its internship programme for students enrolled in under-graduate, graduate or post-graduate courses in India and abroad. The objective of the internship programme is two-fold:
- To acquaint students from diverse academic backgrounds with the programmatic activities of CCRHS and provide them an opportunity to enhance their theoretical knowledge through practice-based assignments.
- To encourage students in a way that they better understand and familiarize themselves with the CCRHS Human Security approach towards resolving conflicts.
The interns will normally be assigned to single or multiple units under a supervisor, depending on their educational background and interest. They will be expected to participate in the regular activities of the Centre and follow its general policies and regulations. They will mainly spend their time in the Centre at New Delhi, India with potential field visits depending on their nature of work.
Please be noted that interns will not be paid. All the necessary expenses including travel, living, visa and meal cost will have to be borne by them personally or by their sponsors. However, the resources necessary to perform their duties, including infrastructure, will be provided by the Centre. Deadline for submitting applications is 20th July 2012.
Those who are interested can send their application, including letter of motivation (not more than 500 words) and detailed CV including two references to: ccrhs@ccrhs.org
